Storyteller, folk singer and Dorset native Tim Laycock brings local legends and characters to life in this lively session. With a lifetime steeped in oral history and performance - including time as Artistic Director of the New Hardy Players - Tim shares tales of old Dorset, from mischievous spirits to village lore, woven with music, memories and humour.

Biography

Tim Laycock is a Dorset-based writer, folk musician and storyteller with a lifelong passion for the county’s oral traditions and rural heritage. His career has taken him across the country as a travelling performer, during which he has collected and preserved a rich repertoire of local folk tales, songs and customs. A respected figure in the folk arts, Tim was awarded the Gold Badge by the English Folk Dance and Song Society in 2024 for his outstanding contribution to folk music and storytelling.
