The Long Drive and other mysteries book
By Charles Michell
Charles Michell has had a home in north Suffolk for most of his life. Travel, politics, the law, the countryside and local affairs have shaped his diverse experiences. In a life life which has taken him from hotel interests in the Caribbean to practising as a London barrister, he finished his working days serving his community in Suffolk, as a councillor and mayor of his town.
His first books, Dim Recollections and On Second Thoughts, combine reminiscence and perception with mischievous verse.
In this volume the author finds a different dimension to his stories, exchanging memories and realities for tales of curiosity and mystery set against a background of more tranquil times.
The Long Drive and other mysteries includes The Rain Forset, selected for the HIGHLY COMMENDED category of short stories by King Lear Prizes.
