You’re invited to our Symondsbury Estate Summer Feast
A delicious foodie evening featuring Estate-grown and local produce, plus a talk by internationally-renowned garden designer and plantsman, Charles Chesshire
As summer evenings stretch out and the roses start to bloom in the Tithe Barn gardens, we’re setting the table for something truly special – our Summer Feast on Wednesday 11th June – and we’d love you to be there.
The evening begins with a seasonal cocktail, glass of wine or fizz (alcohol-free option too, of course) in the garden, with Colmers Hill as your picture-perfect backdrop. It's a moment to relax, soak up the view and enjoy the company of fellow food lovers.
Then gather at communal tables inside our 14th-century barn for a two-course feast created by Head Chef Jim Wanless, celebrating the very best of our homegrown produce and local ingredients sourced, where possible, within a 10-mile radius of the Estate. Jim’s food is all about letting the ingredients shine - honest, hearty and packed with flavour.
But that’s not all. We’ll be joined by Charles Chesshire, renowned garden designer and one of Symondsbury’s most entertaining residents who will give a talk on the Art of Dishevelment-part garden philosophy, part psychological dig into how much 'control' we each like to exert over nature. It promises to be witty, insightful, and full of charm (a bit like Charles himself).
